Training

In order to fulfill its constitutional obligations, the ZNA embraces the principle that military preparedness and effectiveness is derived from robust training that is progressive and takes into account the ever-changing dynamics of conflict. Individual and collective training is conducted at unit, formation and at various training institutions.

Zimbabwe Military Academy.   The Zimbabwe Military Academy is the entry point for Regular Officer Cadets. The Regular Officer Cadet Course is designed to train and develop officer cadets for command and leadership skills for service as regular officers.

All Arms Battle School.     All Arms Battle School is responsible for the progressive training on command and leadership in peace is the custodian of the land facilities used for Field Training Exercises. The All Arms Battle School hosted the first SADC Peacekeeping Training Exercise (Blue Hungwe) in 1996.

Zimbabwe School of Infantry. The Zimbabwe School of Infantry is responsible for the progressive training for Junior and Senior Non-Commissioned Members in command and leadership, and also in combat related technical and tactical skills. 

Recruit Training Depot.    Recruit Training Depot is the entry point for all Non-Commissioned Members. Training at the Recruit Training Deport is designed to transform civilians into soldiers ready for the complex demands of the modern battlefield.

The Zimbabwe National Army recognizes the importance of specialized training in equipping its members with skills and knowledge. To achieve this, the organisation runs Special to Arm training at various institutions around the country. These include the Zimbabwe School of Military Engineering, Health Services Training School, Zimbabwe School of Signals and Information Technology Training School.
