The generally sleepy area of Malipati in Chiredzi South came alive on 12 October 2019 when the crème de la crème of Army bands,traditional dance groups and local music groups descended in Malipati for the 4th edition of  the Mine Risk Education Music and Sports Gala.

This year’s annual Russia International Army Games were held from 03 to 17 August 2019 in Russia and other Eastern European and Asian countries. While the Zimbabwe Defence Forces’ primary role is to safeguard the country’s independence and territorial integrity, the force also has an obligation to render Military Assistance to Civil Communities and Civil Ministries.In fulfilling this mandate, the ZDF identifies and undertakes community based projects that benefit vulnerable communities. The projects include the construction of clinics, schools and other such social amenities that benefit societies.

Members of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces were awarded with bravery medals for their gallant contributionstowards rescue operations in areas affected by Cyclone Idai which hitparts of Manicaland, Masvingo and Mashonaland East provinces in March this year. The medals were presented by the Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa at this year’s ZDF Day celebrationsat the National Sports Stadium on 13 August 2019.
